“It’s just such a grounding place, such an open place, such a place that you feel comfortable opening up and being vulnerable that’s one thing that I tend not to do. I think I’m kind of the jokester sometimes and I always laugh and tease people and or laugh at myself as it were, but not often open up. And this certainly provides that kind of a thing. And I think that the different modalities that we’ve done directly and sometimes indirectly open up things that then create again, energy movement, emotional movement. So I just want to say that I’ve been here four times, and I’m coming back again. Because this is just such a grounding, such an open, beautiful place.”

Overweight. Nine years ago I realized that my weight was creeping up and I have diabetes and it was just getting a little harder to keep my blood sugars in control. This is my fourth visit. One my first time here, I was here for two weeks and I lost quite a bit of weight. This time not quite so much, but I've been here a week so not expecting the same results, but I do feel lighter. This time I've lost three, probably 4 pounds now and feel better for it. It did impact my health. I have lost since my first trip here close to 40 pounds, probably 50 pounds lighter than what I was. I attribute it to the lifestyle change.
Elevated Blood Sugar. My blood sugar was at 7, which isn't horrible, but not ideal. When it gets too high, I get very irritable. When it's too low, I have no energy.My blood sugar has been around the 5 and a half to six mark, which is exactly where I want to be. So I feel way better. I do want to be between 5-5 and six and five. Four out of six days I've been right in the mark and I'm quite happy with that.
So it was time to reset. And so now I've reset and this week I'm off of one of my medications and my blood sugars are right in line where I want them to be. So I get to go home and relax, enjoy my life and continue to be healthy.
Having said that, I'm sure I'm probably going to have to take medications for the rest of my life. But I also learned that I have to be thankful that there are people out there who have made these medications such that I can continue to live a healthy life.
Pulse. I'm usually around 70.My pulse was a little bit lower, which is awesome. I mean, I came out of a beautiful meditation class and my pulse was down to 63 I think, which is awesome for me. So that slowed down again, so I'm happy with that.
Struggling with healthy nutrition. I do a lot of exercise but where I fall short is on food.The program always helps me to get back on track and eat healthy, eat more raw. I tend to eat some, but all the recipes allow me to actually reduce all of that and increase my energy level and my feeling of being lighter. So that's a lot of what I'm learning from this.
Staying on Track. After each visit, I went home and bought some of the equipment and then I was able to do a lot of dehydration and some of the foods from the recipes that were provided by the chefs here and are so delicious. To replicate that at home was amazing. I was able to take those into my life and continue the benefits that I've been receiving here.
Reset. Each of those 4 times I’ve been here was really a chance to reset, to learn or relearn how to eat healthy, how to ground myself and then on top of that just enjoy this lovely location.
Life Purpose and Life Balance.There were a couple of teaching sessions where I learned or relearned some things that I had learned in the past which made me feel so much better. I have defined my what I'm going to call my Talisman my purpose in life going forward. So there were ideas to take back. I do tend to overcomplicate my life or overbook it. And I realized that I need some time for me to just relax and I've learned that there are 2 kinds in my world: one overbooks or another one sits at home. So I need to find that balance in the middle and so that was through some of the sessions I was able to realize that's what I need to do and so I'm looking forward to doing that.
Not being sensitive to the body's energy. I always sort of professed that I didn't feel energy. We had a great class today on balancing your meridians, the whole energy, moving energy. I was able to feel the energy today. I've got a handout with a five-minute exercise on how to balance the energies, and I'm really looking forward to doing that.

Experience Highlights:

  • I have to thank the colonic gal. Amazing, amazing, amazing.
  • The rest of my body feels so much better too from different kinds of massages that I’ve had. I had a Thai massage and a Swedish massage.
  • I also had an ionic bath for my feet. I can feel that toxins have come out of my body and I feel that much better for it.
  • Cooking classes: two chefs, each gave us one class. They were both spectacular and I’m excited to go home and try the recipes, and I’m not even a cook.
  • Group Environment: sometimes it’s nice to not know anybody if I’m coming on my own because I’m positive that most of these people won’t take my stories home, nor will I take theirs so that again provides the environment that they can just be themselves and not worry about it.
  • The practitioners and everybody that’s involved are just amazing.
  • The lovely location with the waves crashing on the beach right beside us it’s amazing.
