Eating Habits. I had a baby 2 yrs. ago. You get into a rhythm of surviving. I had post-birthing problems. I spent a lot of time in bed. Because your days are so busy, you start allowing yourself to eat whatever you can get into your system. The main reason why I came was to get back into healthy eating habits. | The program is rigorous, every day is fully planned for you. You are being fed, you don’t have to take care of anything, which is really great for a mother. You are being taken-care-of 24/7. It has been an amazing me-time. There is also a lot of education happens, it opened up areas for me I was not expecting to dive into. |
Sleep issues. Sleep was terrible for me. When you get a kid, you do not get a lot of sleep, during the first or last trimester of pregnancy, and during the year after. | Sleep got so much better. |
My nervous system was out of whack. There was a lot of tension in my body. I was holding my breath due to the tension. | After a few days you start opening up and relaxing, in a way that I didn’t expect. My nervous system is so much more regulated. |
It was really hard for me to meditate or quiet the mind. | The program does not only support you with food and supplements, but along with that you have morning meditation. The practitioners have so much knowledge and are so holistic. It’s been really enlightening. |
Flexibility. In my entire life I was never able to sit in a good buddah posture, and I thought that anatomically I was not meant to do that, like other people in a yoga class. | After we loosened me up and got my whole body flowing, I actually sat with an entirely straight back in a yoga pose with crossed fit. I asked a practitioner to put a hand on my back. For me that was something I never thought I could do. |
Poor daily routine | The type of foods that I will continue eating at home, the little routines that I am going to continue doing at home, to make sure that I am calm at the end of the night and have a good night sleep, it’s worth so much, it will improve my life tremendously. |
Joint inflammation in hands. My whole body was achy, especially my joints in hands and feet. The moment my feet would meet the ground in the morning, I’d be met with excruciating pain, just like needle or knife stabs. It would take me 5 min to even start feeling comfortable walking around. | After 7 days here at the retreat, this morning I got out of bed and stepped my feet on the floor. I felt a moment of something, but I went straight to open the blinds. I was fine. And my hands’ joints are not perfect, but 80% better. My hands feel less cramped, and clenching fists does not hurt anymore. A lot of inflammation improved, and I think it is food related. |
Digestive Health/ Weight Loss | I shed 5 lbs. I think it was a lot of inflammation in my colon. I feel much lighter and uplifted. |
Bloating and being uncomfortable after having food. Food. I could not believe the quantities we were taking in. There is a lot to take in, between food and drinks. I did not think that it was possible to digest this food and not to be bloated, like when you go for a vacation or during Christmas, when you feel, I don’t want to ever eat again. | I think today for the first time in a long time I had my lunch and afterwards I didn’t feel like I was pregnant again. I am excited to eat. My digestion goes really well. The lunch was amazing, and I was not bloated. Amazing foods, routine, you will never be hungry. But somehow you digest it all and feel light after! |
Brain fog and fatigue. – I am usually tired, exhausted | Is gone. It’s the end of the day, I feel really light. |
Back hurt and position was uncomfortable – I would have to shuffle around a lot. | I am comfortable sitting down. My whole digestion is so relaxed and my body does not ache as much, and I can sit here for a while and to talk without pain. |
Fitness Level and Stamina. Just a thought of taking a regular fitness class was overwhelming. In spite of doing physio and everything available to me, I was still overwhelmed trying to get back to my normal life. | This week on my own and taking time to take care of my body aches and all the issues that I’ve been having to be able to get back into a healthy rhythm, will be beneficial for my daughter, because I am now more of the person that I was before having her. And it is hard to get back to that person physically, especially after giving birth and not being able to move, exercise and eat well. It helps you to come back to the right mindset and shape. I would like this to be mandatory for each new mom! Giving birth is a big job, just like a major surgery or bigger. |
